Beijing, September 20, 2025 – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held talks in Beijing, reaffirming bilateral ties and mapping out future cooperation.

Celebrating 10 Years of Strategic Partnership
Morocco was among the first Arab and African nations to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. With 2026 marking the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership, Wang Yi said both nations are committed to strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, culture, and diplomacy.
“China is ready to work with Morocco to uphold our original diplomatic aspirations and jointly open a brighter future for China-Morocco and China-Arab relations,” Wang Yi emphasized.
Morocco Reaffirms Support for China
Bourita conveyed King Mohammed VI’s greetings to President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed Morocco’s adherence to the one-China principle, pledging support for China’s sovereignty and security.
He also expressed Morocco’s readiness to expand cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and promote exchanges in tourism, education, and culture, while supporting China’s Global Governance Initiative.
Strategic Dialogue and Global Cooperation
The ministers discussed the Middle East situation and broader global challenges. A memorandum of understanding was signed to establish a strategic dialogue mechanism between the two foreign ministries—signaling deeper collaboration in regional and international affairs.
Looking Ahead
As China and Morocco prepare to celebrate 10 years of strategic partnership in 2026, the two nations are expected to expand economic opportunities, cultural ties, and diplomatic coordination, while working together to promote a more balanced international order.
